Rimowa – Gifting
The goal for this project was to create a procedural system in Houdini that could wedge many iterations of Vellum cloth simulations interacting with the suitcase. These iterations would then be selected based on their appeal and then shot (rendered) from virtual cameras with various textures and lighting conditions.
I created multiple systems using PDG in Houdini that let the cloth behave in various ways, including wrapping the suitcase like a drawstring bag, swirling around in zero-gravity, and splitting apart along sliced lines.
These systems were then delivered to the client to be textured, lit, and rendered for the final product.
